Sindy comes to life coaching via a rich and varied professional path as a lawyer, entrepreneur, consultant, yoga and meditation teacher, and author. Intrinsic to everything she has done is a fierce drive to impact others in a positive and meaningful way.
Sindy started her career as a lawyer in a big firm in San Francisco in 1996 after graduating with honors from Stanford Law School. She was quickly drawn to the practice of employment law, where she worked on matters of discrimination, harassment, and other unfair treatment in the workplace. Almost ten years later she decided to leave the traditional practice of law to start her own human resources consulting business, focusing on creating and maintaining excellent workplace cultures and organizational well-being. She had the honor of being invited to the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission in 2015 to testify on the issue of sexual harassment in the workplace. She continues with this important work today. In addition, she serves as the outside HR Director at Western Reserve Academy, an elite boarding school in Northeast Ohio. Her work there is focused on elevating organizational culture for faculty, staff and students.
While she was working as a lawyer, Sindy became a serious student of the yoga practice in 2003 and never looked back. She obtained advanced certifications for teaching yoga and mindfulness meditation and teaches at Citizen Yoga. In honor of her positive impact on the community, she was named a Lululemon Ambassador in 2017. In 2019 she was one of a select number of ambassadors from around the world to be invited the Global Ambassador Summit.
One of the things about the discipline of yoga that Sindy is most passionate about is philosophy. She wrote a book about the continued relevance of ancient yoga philosophy for the modern practitioner in 2017, Radi8: Using the Practice of Yoga to Cultivate Your Inner Shine. Radi8 was quickly published to excellent reviews. In addition to teaching the physical practice of yoga, Sindy continues to study and teach philosophy.
In her work as a lawyer, HR consultant, yoga teacher and author, Sindy has positively impacted others by empowering them to elevate themselves in work and life. Coaching is a natural progression of her work in all of these arenas. She is a certified life coach trained by the Institute for Life Coach Training.
